GOT QUESTIONS?
WHAT’S IT TAKE TO BE A DIGITAL MISSIONARY?
1. How much time is required? You have full control over your availability! You can even change it at any time, temporarily or indefinitely. If one hour a week is all you can commit to, that’s fantastic! When you are scheduled for a call (within the time you’ve made available), you will receive notification of your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.
2. What kind of equipment do I need? Is special software required? You most likely already have all the equipment you need – a computer with a reliable internet connection that can handle streaming video calls. You just need an email account (a Google account is helpful, but not necessary) and an online calendar that you check regularly and can sync with our online scheduling platform. We realize not everyone is comfortable with technology, so we’ll walk with you every step of the way. Once it’s all set up, the system will virtually run itself. All you will do is point and click!
3. How knowledgeable do I need to be about other religions and cultures? Knowledge of other religions and cultures is certainly helpful, but not necessary. It’s better to think in terms of being graciously and culturally sensitive than knowledgeable. What’s most important is your desire to tactfully and compassionately share Jesus both from the Scriptures and your own personal testimony. The gospel itself will be offensive to many, but that doesn’t mean you should be!
4. Is there special training that is required. No. Our main concern is that you know and can articulate and defend the gospel well. We will provide some “best practices” and resources for you to prepare and equip you which you can review at your own pace, if you would find this helpful. We also provide periodic training for our team in a variety of formats (book review, online forum, previewing video lessons or interviews, etc.).
